What is Act-On-Cue?
Act-On-Cue is your rehearsal partner. It acts as your line reader, recognizes cues, and helps you record naturally sounding self-tapes.
Who created Act-On-Cue?
Act-On-Cue is designed for actors, by an actor.
How does Act-On-Cue work?
Upload your script. Pick which character you're playing. Choose a voice for the reader. Press play to run the lines. When you say the last word of your line, the reader speaks their line in response.
How do I add new lines?
There are many ways to add or edit lines in your script: new lines can be added by pasting your script, transcribing audio or typing them out. Or by uploading your script as an image.
What devices does Act-On-Cue support?
Act-On-Cue runs on any device with Internet. iPhones & Androids, iPads and laptops. There's also a dedicated iOS app.
What languages does Act-On-Cue support?
English (all accents: US, GB, CA, AU) is the main supported language. More languages coming soon.
Does Act-On-Cue require an internet connection?
Yes. Act-On-Cue is an online tool. You need to sign up so you can create and manage your scenes.
Can I change the way the reader sounds?
Yes, you can pick from a library of natural-sounding voices. You can also generate audio from your own recordings to control pitch and speed.
Is it free?
You can start for free. Character voices and extended usage are available through a subscription or one-time top-up.
